Elizabeth City, NC – College of The Albemarle’s Student Theatre (COAST) Players are excited to present “Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812,” an electrifying musical by award-winning composer Dave Malloy. This critically acclaimed musical, inspired by a dramatic passage from Leo Tolstoy’s “War and Peace,” delivers a one-of-a-kind theatrical experience that blends romance, storytelling, and electrifying music.
“Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812” follows young Natasha Rostova, who arrives in Moscow awaiting the return of her fiancé from war. However, she soon becomes entangled in a whirlwind romance with the charismatic Anatole. Meanwhile, the troubled and introspective Pierre, struggling to find purpose in his life, is thrust into Natasha’s crisis, leading to an unforgettable journey of love, redemption, and self-discovery.
